Emma’s Questions

1. What is your favorite Bible verse and why is it special to you?

I would have a very, very hard time picking one verse. I have an entire Pinterest board of 284 Bible Verse pins—and there’s more than 284 Bible verses among those.

But there is one passage that moves me to tears every time I read it, whether in French or English.

And in that day thou shalt say,
O Lord, I will praise Thee:
though Thou wast angry with me,
Thine anger is turned away, and Thou comfortedst me.
Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid:
for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;
He also is become my salvation.
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water
out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the Lord, call upon His name,
declare His doings among the people,
make mention that His name is exalted.
Sing unto the Lord;
for He hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth.
Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion:
for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

Isaiah 12

2. What is your favorite movie and why?

I am not a movie girl, honestly. They last too long for my concentration—probably because I am just not used to them. I grew up on TV shows with a beginning, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution in 20-25 minutes flat. However, I have discovered some great movies thanks to my friends. I can’t really say which is my fav right now… it all depends on my mood. But a good 1930s-1950s film like The Scarlet Pimpernel or The Woman in Green is almost always my jam.

3. What would you consider your hidden talent?

I am really good at organizing things and making lists. And I love it.

4. What book could you read over and over again?

Honestly, the Bible. It’s ALWAYS got something new! Another would be any of my 10/10 or 9/10 heart books… or 8/10, 7/10, 6/10, 5/10… I reread books, okay? XD

5. What are your favorite names?

OOOOOOOO I LOVE THIS QUESTIONNN. Okay so I adore names—like I have lists and lists. But I’m just gonna give 10 male and 10 female names. *halo*

  1. Edward
  3. William
  4. Jonathan
  5. Jack (I like John but Jack is AWESOME)
  6. Matthias/Matthew
  7. Luke
  8. Eric (I like most E names for boys tbh)
  9. Julian
  10. Jason. (I really like J names for boys too)

These are like my top fav male names. But it’s sooo hard to pick fav female names, like really… impossible. Here are just 10 favs.

  2. Jesseca
  3. Orla
  4. Leticia
  5. Katrina
  6. Rowena
  7. Magdalena
  8. Margeretta
  9. Lovissa
  10. Valencia

If that doesn’t tell you what type of person I am…

6. What’s your favorite place on earth?

The beach. I adore being near a body of water, and the beach is like the place to be near water. I like all kind of beaches but I admit I am partial to sandy beaches…

7. If you had a TV show or book made about you, what would the title be?

I have no clue. Random thoughts: Drama Queen, Weird & Wonderful, Me, Myself, & I, Passion & Purity, The Many Lives of… those are all dumb and already taken. I don’t know! Maybe something about my obsessions or complexities. I’d like a biography more than a TV show though. Maybe something like AKA Rosamond (my former pen name).

8. Who is your top favorite author?

I really think it’s Jane Austen. The woman is fabulous.

9. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?

I am 100% an extrovert, just a very shy and self-conscious extrovert. XD I thrive on and recharge my batteries by connecting with people, and decharge rapidly if I can’t.

10. What’s your biggest goal in life?

“I’d like to add some beauty to life,” said Anne dreamily. “I don’t exactly want to make people know more… though I know that is the noblest ambition… but I’d love to make them have a pleasanter time because of me… to have some little joy or happy thought that would never have existed if I hadn’t been born.” I’d like to be one who “after she had passed through a life with a smile or a word thrown across it like a gleam of sunshine the owner of that life saw it, for the time being at least, as hopeful and lovely and of good report.” And I want to influence/inspire them to love others truly and spread sunshine around them as well.

11. What’s your favorite TV show?

Right now it’s Redwall. I think Babar would be a very close contestant though. And The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

11 Random Facts About Me

  1. I am really bad at random facts.
  2. I love the idea of being a makeover person (like on a makeover show).
  3. I hate the smell of little peas. They make me sick.
  4. I enjoy playing geometrical games.
  5. Anything around my neck makes me really anxious. I can’t stand people touching my neck, or turtlenecks, scarves, or tight collars. Even necklaces are very difficult for me to bear.
  6. I enjoy doodling words and the most common I doodle are “love,” “smile,” “hope,” and “path.”
  7. I eat my cereal dry or with vanilla yogurt. I hate milk.
  8. I love bottles and jars!
  9. I would far rather be cold than hot, because it’s easy to warm up and super hard to cool down. I cannot BEAR a hot room.
  10. Courageous is sitting on my shelf and has been for over six months and I haven’t watched it yet. :{ TBH it’s mostly because I have to borrow another computer to watch it with because mine isn’t powerful enough to support the DVD player.

My Questions

  1. What’s your favourite cold summer treat?
  2. What’s one classic you really want to read and haven’t yet?
  3. What are your top 10 favourite names? (I have to keep it going lol)
  4. What’s one stereotypical summery thing to do that you don’t like doing?
  5. This is your opportunity to rant about your fav book, movie, or TV show—or all three. I HEREBY OFFICIALLY GRANT YOU PERMISSION.
  6. What word(s) do you misspell the most?
  7. Where do you take walks to this summer?
  8. What music are you listening to on repeat right now?
  9. Is there a book you really wanted to read this year? Have you and if not, WHEN WILL YOU?
  10. Tell me about a new outfit you’ve created and loved.
  11. How do you like your hamburgers?

And I tag:

  1. Eva-Joy @ The Caffeinated Fangirl
  2. Martha @ Beyond the Literary Horizon
  3. Kristina @ Kristina Hall, Author

Hello! :) I'm Katja. I'm a Canadian bibliophile, book reviewer, writer, and child of God. I love too many things to name, but among them are chocolate, heirlooms, history, fancy handwriting, grammar & punctuation, laughter, tearjerking books, lists, organized bookshelves, pink roses, flowing skirts, hymns, and pretty much anything old-fashioned, beautiful, & classy.

  1. Thanks for the tag! I need more blog post ideas, so this is perfect.

Eric and Luke are right up there on my list of guy names as well. (Eric for Eric Liddell and Luke for the doctor. <3)

And, GIRL. You NEED to watch Courageous at the earliest opportunity! I'm not one for a lot of Christian movies, but that one has a special place in my heart (and it's one of the least flawed Christian movies I've ever seen).

    1. Welcome! Glad it worked out 🙂

Yessss they’re such epic names! (At first I was like “doctor? what doctor??” and then I got it lol. Downsides of knowing the Bible in French haha!).

  2. I’m the same way about my neck. Can’t handle anything getting too close. I can handle scarfs as long as they are loose or necklaces as long as they are longer (though I rarely wear them in the first place). But I’ve never been a fan of turtlenecks for this reason.
