8 Christmas Activities // 10 Days of Christmas Blog Tour + 12 DOC 2020

I had a lot of fun coming up with these 8 activities! I haven’t done any of them yet but now I want to. XP

1. Keep a Christmas Diary.

Yes, I know I already mentioned that, but now I mean a DIFFERENT kind of journaling. Now I’m talking about keeping a dairy of what happens for the 25 days (or more!) of December. Seeing how things change year by year. That sounds so fun!

2. Have a Scavenger Hunt.

My writing group recently had a Christmas book scavenger hunt and it was really fun! The good thing with scavenger hunts is that they can be adapted for many things. Bookish? Covers, themes, characters, messages, letters/words… Traditional? Lights, cocoa, canes, red-&-white clothes… Christmassy snacks? Green, white, red, blue, gold… You get the idea! 😉 And here’s some more!

3. Make Some Sort of Ornament/Decoration.

DIY is pretty fun, whether on your own or with family! And making a new decoration/ornament every year sounds pretty fun. 🙂

4. Make an Old Christmas Recipe.

Look up old family recipes that were traditionally done at Christmas, or traditional Christmas food from the country(ies) your ancestors are from. Or not! Ditch the Christmas altogether and just do a family recipe or country recipe you’ve wanted to do for a while!

5. Do a Photo Challenge.

I love photo challenges! And there are lots out there, either for all of December or just Christmas. 🙂

6. Handwrite Christmas Carols/Verses.

This is a delightful way to improve your handwriting, memorize poetry and Scripture, and be productive. ;P You could do a Scripture Writing Challenge, or just choose favourite prophecies and verses pertaining to Jesus. 🙂

7. One-on-One Activity with a Snack.

Get together with a family member, make a fun/sweet snack, and then pick an activity you can do together, whether it’s driving around to look at Christmas lights, colouring Christmas pictures, making cards, watching a movie, or anything else!

8. Play Mad Libs!

Mad libs are easy to make and absolutely hilarious to play! 😉

So there you are! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the party over at Martha’s! And enter the giveaway! http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/6113ead920/?

  1. Love all these activities!!! Especially the Christmas Diary. 🙂 I’ve kept a daily journal since the end of 2017, but to have a diary solely based on Christmas-related events sounds really fun. I’ll have to remember that for next year . . . 😉
    Thanks for sharing! ❤

  2. Oh, I love these ideas! I’m terrible at keeping a diary, but I try to remember to do it at least around Christmas/New Year. And I like the recipe idea. I’ve got a mini-collection of old cookbooks, so I might just have to try a new recipe for Christmas. 😉 And I LOVE doing mad libs with my siblings! They are SO hilarious! (The mad libs and my siblings. XD)

  3. That’s a great list of activities! I’ve kept a special part in my regular diary for December before. I would pick one special thing that was Christmas related that day and write it down in red pen. I haven’t done that for a few years. It was rather fun. 🙂
