So I was tagged for this awhile ago and it looks fun, so let’s dive in 😀
Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you/mention whose blog you found this on // A lot of my friends have done this, but I think I first heard of it from Autumn, although it appears that Hannah tagged me for it (thank you!!).
- Include the rules and badge in your post.
- Write 5 single line stories that fall under any of these genres (you can pick which ones you do!):
- fantasy
- romance
- thriller
- mystery
- western
- contemporary
- historical
- drama
- dystopian
- adventure
- sci-fi
- paranormal
- young adult
- You can choose 5 genres that’s easiest for you, or you can challenge yourself to try something new!
- Nominate 5 blogger/writers who you’d love to see participate and leave an open nomination for all writers!
- You can do this challenge more than once.
Okaaayyy… let’s see how this goes. I hate writing first lines AND synopsis, and this is like the two together, sooooo XD
Contemporary:
Cars were not supposed to have troubles when she was driving them, let alone when she was alone on the dark, winding, tree-lined back roads.
[yes I have often written this story in my head and it needs to be written for real someday]
Historical:
She was much affected by the thoughtfulness with which he had selected the flowers in the tussy-mussy.
[STOPPING HERE IS SO HARD Y’ALL I ALREADY HAVE A SECOND AND A THIRD LINE AND A WHOLE STORY IN FACT]
Fantasy:
The waving blue deep was full of sirene, and all the richness of flowing hair of every shade; glittering jewelry; and long dresses of shimmering scales, curving around the neck, tapering into a large, gorgeous fin at the bottom, and fitted with short or long sleeves, as the sirena preferred.
[yes I love (modest, nonmagical) mermaids and I wanna write something about them someday surprise surprise]
Mystery:
“You are quite right, Miss Arnold; if it was, as you and your brother can affirm, in his pocket, there is no conceivable way it could have travelled to Devon and appeared in the late Mr. Jamieson’s bag; therefore, the obvious conclusion is that you and your brother were misled by a similar watch, deliberately planted, and the question then remains, by whom and why?”
[ok so I may have cheated there but come on XD XD]
Adventure:
Sword-fights and sixshooter face-offs were very overrated; a sturdy bike, a warm breeze, and a simple countryside was all that a boy needed for an adventure.
[seriously we need more adventure stories that are, like, sweet and funny and NOT involving violence—especially the everlasting medieval or western ones]
And I tag… Eva-Joy, Jenna Terese, Angie Thompson, Kate Willis, Allison Tebo, and whoever else wants to do it 😉
All right, guys, that was actually really hard but also really fun and sure got my creative juices flowing. Which was your favourite??
These were all wonderful, but I especially loved the sirene/sirena fantasy one. 😍It was gorgeous. I would love to read a story about that. Thanks for sharing these Katja!
